Camping in the Backyard.

I talked a little bit on how I like camping outdoors in nature, on a previous blog. What I would like to talk about this time, is the camping I did as a kid.    Who out there has ever gone camping in their backyard, as kids. Me and my friends loved to do this. Set up a small pup tent, or have our dads set up the big family tent. Thats right I’m old, we did not have such a variety of tents to choose from. My friends and I would gather up our sleeping bags. blankets and pillows. Raid the kitchen for snacks and goodies. Fill our canteens up with some kind of kool aid that was in the fridge. Then gather up our flash lights and other items for the night. As children we have good imaginations, so for me and my friends, we would believe we were soldiers, or explores in a dangerous and scary place. Most of the time we would just tell stories to each other and guff off.    The great part of Camping outside in the backyard, were the sleep overs you could have with your friends and cousin

SURVIVAL! AM I PREPARED.

Are you prepared for a disaster or the unexpected? In this world we live in, there is a lot going on. At this time it is the virus and the protesting/riots. But we also have to be ready for the other dangers out there. If a natural disaster hits, like a hurricane, a tornado, an earthquake, or a fire. If your car breaks down, out in the middle of nowhere, or run off the road in the mountains. If you’re camping or hiking in the outdoors and you get lost. Are you prepared.      A simple and easy way for you to be prepared, is to have an emergency bag. They are easy to make and easy to store. Here is a list;  Get a backpack, one you would use for school or for over night. Inside the backpack put these items in. First aid kit flash lite or a lantern emergency radio glow sticks emergency sleeping bag emergency tent emergency blankets pair of gloves warm socks compass food (can or dehydrated) M.R.E. if you have them. water (bottled at least 3) Filtered water bottle.    The
